Canada 2006 Vancouver Island, British Columbia - This year's show circuit on Vancouver Island was certainly no less successful than last year's. Paige finished 6 of the 9 dogs that went, and put points on the other 3, who will certainly finish on the next trip. Finished this year were Giant Schnauzers Black Gold's Princess Lei, Am Ch Black Gold's Maximus, Am Ch Skansen's Mega Veer S, Miniature Poodle Am Ch Daktari Diantha, Standard Poodle "Kit", and Great Dane BISS Am Ch Rojon's Believe in Magic. Receiving well deserved points toward their Canadian championships were Wire Haired Dachschund "Ruby", Standard Poodle "Rowdy" and Giant Schnauzer "Pascha". Three shows each were held by the Campbell River Dog Fanciers (Campbell River, BC), Glacier View Kennel Club (Courtenay, BC), and Victoria City Kennel Club (Saanich, BC). All shows were held outdoors with wonderful, and even spectacular, views. The hospitality extended by the clubs and vendors, and the 'locals' in each city was exemplary. Several of Paige's clients tagged along to watch their dogs, and just enjoy a splendid vacation in one of the most scenic places on earth. The weather was perfect for the outdoor dog shows, held in Campbell River, Courtenay and Victoria City (Saanichton). Barbara and Floyd Hughes made the trip in their motor home, and graciously provided delicious hot meals on many of the evenings, enjoyed outdoors in the brisk BC air.
